Fascinators and finish lines: Albert Edward Prince of Wales Court hosts joyful Ladies’ Day event

Residents at Albert Edward Prince of Wales Court, in Porthcawl, have recently stepped into the spirit of the races this week, enjoying a fun-filled Ladies’ Day. The event was packed with style, laughter and a touch of friendly competition.

The special RSVP-only gathering transformed the Home into a lively race day setting, complete with elegant afternoon tea, live music and plenty of excitement. In the lead-up to the celebration, residents got creative by making their own fascinators, adding a personal and colourful touch to the occasion.

On the day, the atmosphere was brought to life by live piano music. Meanwhile, residents placed their bets on the races and celebrated their wins with prizes, creating a real buzz throughout the afternoon.

The celebration not only provided entertainment but also brought residents together, sparking conversation and joy. Resident Jean described it as “a wonderful afternoon with such effort put into organising it all,” even delivering a heartfelt speech to thank everyone involved. Another resident, Valerie, added: “The event has been fantastic. They’ve put so much thought into every detail!”

Shelley Owen, Business Relationship Manager, praises the team behind the event. She says:

Our Home Manager came up with the idea, but we couldn’t have done this without our Activities Coordinators.

Teresa first inspired the concept, and Kirsten and Nicky truly brought it all to life. They put so much care and attention into everything they do, and it really showed!
