James Terry Court residents enjoy a taste of Spain

Residents and staff at James Terry Court, in South Croydon, have recently come together for a vibrant celebration of Spanish culture. Everyone joined in to transform the Home into a lively fiesta filled with music, dance and tradition.

As part of James Terry Court’s international festivities programme, the Spanish-themed day has brought sunshine and smiles to all involved. The event featured traditional flamenco dancers and a live singer and guitarist, creating an authentic and joyful atmosphere that had residents clapping along and reminiscing.

A highlight of the day was the special visit from a Spanish donkey, which delighted residents and added a unique and memorable touch to the celebrations. Many residents enjoyed getting up close to the gentle animal, sparking conversation and laughter throughout the afternoon.

The event held particular significance for resident Mercedes, who is originally from Ferrol, in Northern Spain. She was thrilled to share her own culture with fellow residents and staff, taking great pride in the day’s activities. She says:

As a Spaniard, the party wasn’t just an event; it was a celebration of my heritage.
