Residents at Cornwallis Court, in Bury St Edmunds, enjoyed an array of chocolate themed activities to mark World Chocolate Day earlier this month. To celebrate the event on 7 July, the Home’s staff baked a series of tasty chocolate treats, such as homemade brownies, and asked residents to guess the secret ingredient.
Residents also took part in a mini quiz followed by a chocolate fondue treat, where they enjoyed dipping marshmallows, fruits and other delights into warm melted chocolate. To round up the sweet filled day, they were treated to a chocolate bar, with three different choices of hot chocolate and fresh chocolate milkshakes on offer.
Emma Gibson, one of the Home’s Activities Coordinators, says:
Our residents and staff at Cornwallis Court had a fantastic time celebrating World Chocolate Day this year. We really enjoy hosting fun and unique activities to entertain them, stimulate conversation and help them to create new and meaningful memories.
There were smiles all around as residents enjoyed the chocolate fondue. Both staff and residents were asking for the recipe when they found out beetroot was the secret ingredient in our homemade brownies!
