Care provider RMBI Care Co. has been named ‘Dementia Care Employer (Residential)’ in the 2025 Dementia Care Awards. The national awards ceremony, which celebrates excellence in dementia care, took place in London in June.

Judges acknowledged the investment and focus the charity has placed in raising and maintaining its dementia care standards, primarily through its dementia accreditation, EMBRACE. The award recognises employers that have developed and implemented incentives that support their employees who may be affected by dementia.

We have seen many residents find a new lease of life through this cultural and environmental shift,

says Anne Child, RMBI Care Co.’s Pharmacy and Dementia Specialist Lead. Anne, who has an MBE for her services to dementia care, spent several years creating EMBRACE alongside Lucy Tupenny, who leads on Quality and Governance. The dementia accreditation includes a suite of modules to help staff raise dementia care standards. Five RMBI Care Co. Homes have now achieved the accreditation, and The CPD Certification Service has recognised several of the modules.

Passionate about her work, Anne says:

It is vital we keep working with and listening to people living with dementia to help shape our future environments.

This is the latest award which recognises the charity’s innovative approach to dementia care. In March, the Great British Care Awards honoured the outstanding leadership of Home Manager Juliet McNeilly of Devonshire Court, in Leicester, naming her National Dementia Carer 2024.

The Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution Care Company’s Prince George Duke of Kent Court in Chislehurst is having a ceremony on Wednesday 26th February to celebrate their Dementia accreditation award. Mayor of Bromley Councillor Dr David Jefferys officially renames the unit Evergreen

Similarly, Home Manager Simon Doherty of The Tithebarn, in Liverpool, was celebrated as North West Dementia Carer 2025 for his exceptional commitment to dementia care. He was also nominated in the Dementia in Care Awards 2025.
