RMBI Care Co. The Tithebarn, Great Crosby, Liverpool

The Board of Trustees for RMBI Care Co. has undertaken a review of our existing services in the north-west to better understand the changing nature of older people’s care, and how best to meet those needs in the future.

The Tithebarn, Liverpool, enjoys an excellent reputation, strong occupancy, and ‘Good’ ratings with the Care Quality Commission (CQC), our regulator. The care home, which supports up to 40 people, has faced a number of challenges, some of which makes the Home costly to run for a national provider.

As a consequence, the Home could have faced an uncertain future but we are delighted to confirm that we have agreed terms with Franklin Care Group, a Manchester based local provider, to transfer the Home to its ownership.  Franklin Care Group will be able to offer the residents, families, and staff, a secure future in joining a local group of seven other care homes.  One of which is Ecclesholme, which successfully transferred ownership from RMBI Care Co. to Franklin Care Group in 2022.

Franklin Care Group is immensely proud and excited to be taking over The Tithebarn.  We understand that The Tithebarn has a long and established history of providing the highest standard of care in the local community. We wish to continue the legacy of the Home and work together with the staff and community to improve the services further, and secure the long term future of the Home.
