As part of their wellbeing initiative, care staff at Queen Elizabeth Court, in Llandudno have recently organised a special trip for their residents to reach the peak of Wales’ highest mountain.

Everyone was excited to visit Mount Snowdon via the mountain railway. One resident in particular, Valerie has had a lifelong love for hillwalking and climbing; and she has ventured across Britain, Europe and even the Himalayas throughout her years.

During the residents’ trip to the peak of Mount Snowdon, it brought back memories for Valerie when she saw the famous landmark, Clogwyn Du’r Arddu, a north-facing rhyolite set of cliffs.

Valerie said:

I have always enjoyed hiking since I was a young girl, and immersing myself with the peace and beauty of nature. I am so thankful for being able to visit the mountains today.
