Harry Priestley House residents mark the Year of the Ox with Chinese New Year celebrations

Residents and staff at Harry Priestley House in Thorne, Doncaster, celebrated the start of the Chinese New Year with a range of themed activities.

The residents have been busy decorating a colourful 10 foot dragon, making paper lanterns, and bunting to celebrate the arrival of the Year of the Ox.

Denise Broadbent, a resident at Harry Priestley House said:

We have been busy getting the decorations finished so we can all celebrate the Chinese New Year. We are having all different Chinese foods to try as well. Happy Chinese New Year everyone!

Home Manager, Anne Stobart, said:

It was lovely to see both residents and staff getting involved and creating beautiful decorations to mark the special occasion.

We are always thinking of unique and fun activities to support our residents’ health and wellbeing, as well as celebrating different cultures and diversity within our community.
