Two residents at Lord Harris Court, in Berkshire, have been reunited after one whole year apart. Resident Arthur Twitchett, known as Ron, was joined by his wife, Francine, who recently came to live at the Home.
Due to the pandemic, the couple could not meet in the same room since before the first national lockdown; in spite of this, they have been able to meet safely using the Home’s Covid-secure visitor pod. Aware of their situation, the Home’s staff worked tirelessly to ensure they had regular contact by phone or video calls. However, wanting to be closer to Ron, Francine decided to move into Lord Harris Court to live with her husband.
She said:
Ron, I’ve really, really missed you. I can’t believe we are finally together!
Her husband added:
It’s been so long and we had been looking forward to this day for such a long time. I am lost for words.
Abigail Cranston, Home Manager at Lord Harris Court, was delighted to have the happy couple reunited at the Home. She said:
What a beautiful moment. Congratulations, Ron and Francine! At long last you are together again. We wish you so many more loving memories here.
