Queen Elizabeth Court residents and staff go ‘full pink’ to help combat cancer

Residents and staff at Queen Elizabeth Court, in Llandudno, have joined forces to raise money for Breast Cancer Now, a charity that provides research and life-changing care for people affected by breast cancer.

The staff organised a cocktail party and a pink raffle with prizes donated by local businesses for the residents. Everyone participated in a bra fitting service and even Team Leader Chris Roberts dyed his beard pink for the occasion. In total, the care home has managed to raise around £300 from raffles and donations.

Gary Carr, one of Queen Elizabeth Court’s Activities Coordinators, said:

Going pink was a really fun way for our Home to do something positive for a cause that we really care about. Some of our residents and staff have also battled against breast cancer themselves, so it’s a very personal and worthwhile cause for us. There was a lot of laughter during the week, so it was just what we needed.
