Devonshire Court’s Home Manager wins Dementia Carer Award at East Midlands Great British Care Awards

Juliet McNeilly, Home Manager at Devonshire Court, in Leicester, has been named Dementia Carer for the East Midlands region at the Great British Care Awards. The awards ceremony, which took place on 24 November 2023 in Nottingham, paid tribute to those individuals who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their field of work in the care sector.

Juliet says:

It’s a huge honour to be recognised for our dementia care services and I accept this award on behalf of my fantastic team.

Each day, we work to create a supportive environment for our residents, to enable them to have new and memorable experiences and to live well in later life.

She adds:

We are passionate about what we do, always looking for ways to enrich our residents’ lives, whether that’s by helping someone to fulfil a lifelong dream or carrying out a Kindness Walk.

These walks have been developed to offer residents an interactive experience by walking into Devonshire Court’s new balcony. This provides residents living with advanced dementia easy access to the Home’s outside spaces.

At shortlisting stage, RMBI Care Co. submitted a total of seven award entries, which resulted in an equal number of nominees for several categories and regions. Juliet goes through to the national finals, which take place in March 2024 in Birmingham.
