Prince George Duke of Kent Court residents celebrate D-Day 80th Anniversary and Armed Forces Day

Residents at Prince George Duke of Kent Court in Chislehurst were invited by Sevenoaks District Council and Swanley Town Council to an afternoon tea at the Alexandra Suite to celebrate the D-Day 80th Anniversary and Armed Forces Day on 19th June.

The residents enjoyed an afternoon tea party and were entertained by the TEADOT dancers, dressed in uniform and dancing to 1940’s music. They led a good old sing-along which had all the guests joining in and waving their flags.

A special guest and D-Day Veteran, Edward (Ted) Needham, attended the event. Ted served in the Royal Navy on HMS Grenville as a radar operator. He will be celebrating his 100th birthday in November.

Diane Connor, Prince George Duke of Kent Court’s Activities Coordinator, said:

It was a delightful event and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Thank you to Sevenoaks District Council and Swanley Town Council for inviting us.
