Clinical Nurse Manager Tonya Bibby from James Terry Court, in South Croydon has been named winner of the Social Care Nurse award for the London region at the Great British Care Awards. The awards ceremony, which took place on 16 November at Hilton Bankside Hotel, in London, paid tribute to those individuals who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their field of work in the care sector.
Receiving the award, Tonya said:
For me, communication is everything, so I work hard to engage our residents, working collaboratively with my team and residents’ families. We find out each person’s needs and wishes so we can offer personalised care, and an environment they can thrive in.
Tonya, who joined RMBI Care Co. in 2023, also provides mentoring to develop nurse associate apprentices to ensure consistency for new nurses. Jordi Sirera, National Clinical Governance Lead at RMBI Care Co., said:
Tonya cleverly adopts various leadership techniques to meet people’s different learning styles and this has really enhanced the care provided by our nurses.
