Devonshire Court care home manager wins National Dementia Carer Award at Great British Care Awards

Juliet McNeilly, Care Home Manager at Devonshire Court, in Leicester, has been named Dementia Carer at the National Great British Care Award Finals, in Birmingham. The awards ceremony, celebrated in March this year, paid tribute to those individuals who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their field of work in the care sector. All finalists at the event went through after winning in their respective categories in the regional finals.

Juliet McNeilly, Home Manager at Devonshire Court, says:

I’m thrilled to receive the Dementia Carer award on behalf of my whole team. I feel privileged to come to work each day to support our residents to live well, fulfil their dreams and make new memories, and work alongside passionate, kind and caring team members.

She adds:

The care sector is constantly evolving and we strive not just to meet our residents’ needs, but to exceed their expectations by enriching their lives through various activities and events.

This could be an activity in our Kindness Suite, more access to safe outdoor spaces to enjoy nature, or feel-good dance sessions to help people have fun and keep moving.

Steve Stace, Business Manager at RMBI Care Co. Home Shannon Court, in Hindhead, Surrey, also attended the ceremony after winning the Registered Care Home Manager award in the South East regional finals. RMBI Care Co. received a total of seven nominations in 2024’s Great British Care Awards, one for each entry they submitted.
