Albert Edward Prince of Wales Court can support up to 49 people in the two residential areas of our Home. In the Dementia House we can support up to 13 people and in the Nursing area, we have a capacity of 14 residents. We use a staff dependency tool to determine the agreed staffing levels for each area of our Home, which varies upon our residents’ needs at any given time. These levels are monitored and reviewed regularly so staffing ratios can be adjusted according to the needs of our residents.
In our Dementia House, we can accommodate up to 13 people with four carers on duty in the morning and afternoon. During the night, residents are supported by a Shift Leader and two carers.
Our nursing area can support up to 20 people. It is managed by a Registered Nurse, who leads a team of five care staff in the morning, four in the afternoon and two at night.
Most of our care staff have achieved, or are working towards an NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care. We have two Clinical Deputy Home Managers available who oversee the safe and effective care delivered by our staff.
All our residents’ rooms are equipped with a 24-hour nurse call system.
Additionally, we have two dedicated Activities Coordinators who organise a variety of activities as well as trips outside the Home. They support our residents’ health and wellbeing.
Please note that the level of care each person receives will depend on their individual needs. This is continuously monitored and reviewed to ensure each person receives the right level of care. Staffing levels may be adjusted in different areas of the Home to support the level of care required by residents at any particular point in time.
