We are extremely appreciative of the support our volunteers provide to our Homes and to our residents. For anyone wishing to be considered for volunteering, we hope to provide you with an opportunity to exercise your skills in a different environment and to undertake new experiences, which in turn enhances the lives of our residents.

If you are interested in volunteering in one of our Homes, please contact your nearest Home and speak to the Home Manager or Business Relationship Manager, who can provide you with more details on what to expect.

You will need to complete a Volunteer Application Form and be prepared to be interviewed at the Home. To ensure a successful application, we will need to have two character references or current/recent employment references and you will also need to successfully pass a criminal record check via the Disclosure and Barring Service.

To help you feel part of the Home, you will have an induction and receive relevant training for the agreed activities. Being a volunteer is being part of the Homes’ team but you will not be expected to substitute for duties carried out by our permanent staff.  Some examples of what our volunteers get involved with include:

  • Befriending
  • Assisting with events and activities in the Home
  • Assisting with group activities, workshops and social outings
  • Gardening and decorative activities
  • Driving – providing you have the necessary licence and undertake appropriate training
