To further support the residents, Becky Crewe, a Housekeeper at Harry Priestley House, in Thorne, Doncaster, recently took part in a hike on Mount Snowdon to raise funds for the care home. She raised over £700, which will be used for residents to go out on day trips.
Completing the hike on the highest mountains in Wales, Becky says:
I was motivated to achieve the hike so I could give something back to our residents as they always make me feel cheerful when I arrive at work.
It was definitely a challenge for me as I found it terrifying and exhilarating in equal measures. I’m so grateful of the support I have been given from everyone who sponsored me, I can’t believe how much we have raised!
As one of Harry Priestley House’s Housekeepers, Becky supports the residents with learning difficulties.
Anne Stobart, the Home Manager, says:
Becky is an amazing member of staff who goes above and beyond to support our residents’ needs and to make their lives as fulfilling as possible. She is an esteemed colleague, highly regarded by both residents and staff members at Harry Priestley House.
