As a nation, it is estimated that over six million pies will be consumed this year. Most of us can’t resist a homemade pie and to mark British Pie Week from 6 – 12 March, residents at Prince Michael of Kent Court, in Watford, enjoyed making their own homemade pies.
Activities Coordinator Tracy Lydon organised a baking session, where some of the residents reminisced about baking Sunday tea for their families and making their own pastry from scratch. They also played pie themed games like ‘guess the weight of the pie’ and ranked their favourite pies, with blackcurrant coming out on top.
Food plays an important part in our Home and our residents thoroughly enjoy getting involved in food related events. British Pie Week provided a great opportunity to bring our residents together through their mutual love of food,
said Tracy Lydon, Activities Coordinator at Prince Michael of Kent Court.
