Explore our ratingPrince Michael of Kent Court is conveniently situated close to the town centre in leafy Watford. The care home provides residential care and residential dementia support for up to 55 residents and offers both permanent care and respite stays.
We pride ourselves on our person-centred care approach. This often involves doing our research before a resident moves in, and speaking to the person and their family to learn about their likes and dislikes. Our staff get to know our residents very well, which helps us to cater to their specific needs.

Residents can benefit from:
- Several thoughtfully designed gardens with a beautifully decorated inner courtyard, perfect for big or small events and to connect with nature
- A Parisian themed hair and beauty salon for those who fancy a haircut or spot of pampering, and two sensory bathrooms to support rest and relaxation
- The Dementia House has a 1950’s themed Dementia Café, ideal for a catch up over a cup of tea
- Assistive technology such as Yeti tablets and interactive walls to entertain residents, as well as a specialist reminiscence garden with lighting to reduce “sundowning,” promoting calmness and providing reassurance
- Regular activities from quizzes, weekly supper club, art talks and interactive sessions to outdoor exercise sessions, animal visits and taking care of our residential ducks
- Our minibus supports residents to stay connected with their communities, with trips to Watford town centre and other areas of interest.

Food and Nutrition
Prince Michael of Kent Court can support up to 19 people in the residential areas of our Home. In our Dementia House we can support up to 36 people. We use a staff dependency tool to determine the agreed staffing levels for each area of our Home, which varies upon our residents’ needs at any given time. These levels are monitored and reviewed regularly so staffing ratios can be adjusted according to the needs of our residents.
