Staffing

Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh Court can support up to 45 people in the residential area of our Home. We have nine experienced carers in the morning and afternoon and five at night. All shifts are supervised by a Shift Leader.

Our nursing area is managed by a Registered Nurse, who leads a team of eight care staff during the day and three at night.

Most of our care staff have achieved, or are working towards an NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care. A Clinical Lead Nurse is also available and oversees the safe and effective care delivered by our staff in the residential and nursing areas of our Home.

We have a 24-hour nurse call system installed in all our residents’ rooms. Some of the residents have a personal alarm to carry, so they can call for assistance if required.

We have two dedicated Activities Coordinators who organise a variety of activities as well as trips outside of the Home, to support our residents’ health and wellbeing.

We also have fluent Polish, Spanish and Nepalese speakers.

Please note that the level of care each person receives will depend on their individual needs. This is continuously monitored and reviewed to ensure each person receives the right level of care. Staffing levels may be adjusted in different areas of the Home to support the level of care required by residents at any particular point in time.
