RMBI Care Co. has announced the winners of its first annual Nursing Awards. Created to help recognise, reward and praise the efforts of the incredible work of its nurses across the charity; residents, staff and relatives were invited to nominate a nurse and why they think they should win.
The awards were initially created to help mark International Nurses Day in May. The feedback we often receive from relatives, stakeholders and managers about our nurses is impressive. I believed this should somehow be recognised and acknowledged,
said Jordi Sirera, National Clinical Governance Lead.
RMBI Care Co. currently employs around 90 registered nurses across 10 of its care homes in England and Wales. The role is crucial in supporting residents with nursing needs. Nurses undergo various training courses to ensure they are equipped with the right skills to carry out their daily work and lead their clinical teams.
A nurse or Home has been recognised in each of the charity’s regions for three categories. The winners are:
Winning the Clinical Nurse Manager of the Year award, Teresa’s peers said:
Teresa’s passion isn’t just limited to her contracted hours of work. For every additional event, Teresa is always there to support and ensure that our residents and their families can enjoy it.
For one particular resident, Teresa regularly made arrangements for him to visit his local pub and meet up with his friends. When the resident became too unwell to go out, Teresa arranged for his friends to come our Home. She manned the bar for them so they could replicate their ‘Night Out’. This is just one example!
